Meeting of the Science Academies of Latin America
On August 15 and 16, 2003, following the invitation of the Mexican Academy of Sciences, the Science Academies of Latin America held a regional preparatory meeting to the 2003 IAP General Assembly. At this opportunity, the present Academies discussed the programme of the IAP General Assembly, the quality of science and technology in the region, and the proposal of creating of a regional network of Science Academies.
This meeting brought together the National Academies of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, as well as the Presidents of the Caribbean Scientific Union, the Caribbean Academy of Sciences, and the Latin American Academy of Sciences.
