The Executive Committee of IANAS

The Executive Committee (EC) ensures the continuity between two successive meetings of the General Assembly, implement the recommendations of the previous one, prepare the program of the next one, and represent IANAS through its Co-Chairs or one of its members during the time between two General Assemblies. The EC is in charge of the relations of IANAS with international institutions. The EC follows general guidance from the previous General Assembly, and with potentially contentious issues should consult the member Academies most closely involved. All actions of the EC are communicated to member Academies in timely manner. IANAS-EC meets twice a year in different countries of the Hemisphere

For 2010-2013 he Executive Board of IANAS is formed with the National Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences (Argentina); National Academy of Sciences of Bolivia; Brazilian Academy of Sciences; Chilean Academy of Sciences; Cuban Academy of Sciences; Academy of Medical, Physical and Natural Sciences of Guatemala; and Academy of Physical, Mathematical and Natural Sciences of Venezuela. The seven elected Academies, together with the Academies of Arts, Humanities and Sciences of Canada (host of the 2010 General Assembly) and the Academy of Sciences of the Dominican Republic (host of the 2010 General Assembly) along with the two Co-Chairs constitute the new IANAS Executive Board of IANAS.
