PhD in Food Science from University of Sao Paulo, Brazil (1988), Master in Biochemistry and Human Nutrition, Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panamá (1979), Degree in Chemistry at the University of Panamá (1974). Main research: Food Composition of the Panamanian diet with emphasis in fat, carotenoids and antioxidants. Publication of 29 papers in national and international journals. Presentations at 60 international scientific meetings. Director of 63 experimental thesis students Degree in Chemistry, in the area of Nutrition and Food Science.
