Studied biology at the Federal University of Paraná, in Curitiba, Brazil and obtained the master's degree in entomology in the University. The Ph.D. in agricultural entomology, carried out in the University of São Paulo (ESALQ), Brazil. Currently, he is an entomologist and has 26 years of being researcher at Instituto de Investigación Agropecuaria de Panamá, holding the position of national director of research program of Innovation for Competitiveness for Agribusiness (2011-2013), and deputy director (2014-2015). Retrieved recognitions and prizes, national and international, among these the medal ¨German de Leon¨, as a researcher featured in the agricultural sciences, in 2010, among others. From 2010, belongs to the national system of researchers (SNI), in the category ¨Investigador Nacional II¨. He is working in entomology agricultural and biological control of insect-pest. He is also a professor in the master's degree program in entomology, from the University of Panama. It belongs to various international associations and he is Vice President of the International Organization of Biological Control, for the neotropical region (IOBC-SRNT) (2014-2019) and Vice President of the Panamanian Association for the Advancement of Science (APANAC) (2015-2017).
