Professor Neela Badrie
Professor Neela Badrie is the holder of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of London, LPC from the University of Staffordshire, UK B.Sc. in Natural Science, a M.Sc. in Food Technology, and Ph.D. in Food Science, from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.
Her teaching and research areas are in environmental and food microbiology, food quality and safety, food risk management systems and food product development. She serves as an editor or reviewer for several International refereed journals
She is Fulbright scholar and was awarded the Rudranath Capildeo gold medal award for applied Science and Technology from National Institute for Higher Education in Science and Technology (NIHERST). She has received several fellowships/scholarships such as the Fulbright, European Union/ Caribbean and Pacific (CARPIMS), European Union IV CULP/UWI Association of Common Wealth University (ACU), US Visiting international exchange scholar and TWAS/CARISCIENCE young scientist award.
She has served as Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation and was the Head of the Department of Food Production, Faculty of Food and Agriculture, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.
