IANAS announces the report "Survey of Women in the Academies of the Americas"
IANAS is pleased to announce the completion of a report on the status of women in the Academies of the Americas entitled “Survey of Women in the Academies of the Americas”. A PDF of the report is attached to the message. We encourage you to share the report with your colleagues in your Academy. The report is also available on the IANAS website. Survey of Women.
The report provides an important snapshot in time of the number of women in the Academies of the Americas as of 2014 and it identifies important trends. We believe you will find this a useful reference document and a source of valuable data for future internal discussion. These are baseline data and IANAS hopes to be able to up date the census data on an approximately five-year basis to provide a continuing look at the changing status of women in science in the Americas.
IANAS is indebted to Frances Henry of the Royal Society of Canada for preparing the report and to the Focal Points of the IANAS Women for Science Program for their joint work on this valuable project.
